I have just registered a new store, with nothing listed yet. But I am wondering, is there a way to customize the appearance of one's store? I clicked on "design". but it asks me for a "key". It won't accept my password as said "key". What is that? Thanks!

Hi Vali,

Welcome to Silkfair!

That Design tab you clicked on is for an upcoming option, where the store can be completely customized (use pre-made templates, make your own templates, add / edit with your own html, html pages, images, logo, widgets, etc...). We will also be welcoming web designers to make templates and sell them at their own venues.

The custom store would need your own domain name. Basically your own shop / brand. So, if you own the domain vali.com (that's already an existing site owned by Vali Music, so, just using that domain name for the sake of example here ), then your custom shop will appear when someone uses vali.com

Right now, the function is password protected, as we're doing internal testings, and will be opening it to a few sellers who are interested and can do some hands-on testing next week. We're targeting this overall option to be available to all sellers before year ends (targeting November).

Thanks! I look forward to the new additions! My next question is, how do I make my listings accessible to search? I have listed two items, but I cannot find them when I search. Sometimes my store will say 0 items for sale, sometimes it will say 3... Am I doing something wrong?

If I am asking questions that have been addressed elsewhere, I apologize... Thanks for all your help!

Search engine within our site is refreshed periodically throughout the day, Major search engine crawls (like yahoo, msn, google, etc...), that we have no control over, but the sitemap is always updated so that when they do crawl thru us, they pick up the latest.

The listings appearing - please make sure that you have marked the listing active. It would be labeled as such on the right hand column within a listing.
