No need to pay. The items are appearing randomly by the system, and it's updated periodically. The system is trying to be more even with the categories, so, if there is a category with fewer items, then that tends to appear more for now.

We are going toward a personalized slider format. Sample is here -

Just imagine each user can add rows of slider and personaliz to whichever category of interest (latest arts, featured crafts, hot sales in electronics, etc...). You can click on the slider buttons, and play around a bit with it. It's just a test slider for now (donesn't have diverse categories, and slow to load). But it gives you a bit of an idea of how we're going to try to present more listings.

Well..., we figured that we'll put that on front page with the personalizations, to help start making the site present more relevant listings to individuals. Not sure about stores right now. We have to still work on properly caching this to make it fast enough.
